Hi, I'm Jake.

Banff sat on my bucket list for years before my girlfriend Maria and I finally made the trip in the fall of 2023. It lives up to every bit of the hype. I was most surprised by the sheer scale of the mountains and how they seem perfectly placed as backdrops to some of the most beautiful lakes.

We drove from Calgary to Banff, up the Icefields Parkway to Jasper, and back again, pulling over at nearly every turnout. Our favorite stops were Spirit Island, Sunwapta Falls, Morant's Curve, Lake Louise, and Moraine Lake. The hike up the Big Beehive is absolutely worth it for the views alone, but the midway teahouse is a nice added bonus.

One of my best friends, Josh, lives in one of the most beautiful places on Earth and never turns down an adventure. In 2020 I headed cross-country to visit him and saw San Francisco and Yosemite for the first time.

Going from wandering the streets of San Francisco to standing in the quiet of the Yosemite forest felt surreal, and it showed me how much variety one state can offer.

I went back in spring 2025 to visit Josh in Lake Tahoe. The trip was mostly for skiing, but I still managed to get my camera out for a few shots!

Iceland is one of my absolute favorite places! I love the dreamy waterfalls and cool, moody atmosphere. I visited with my mom and sister for a family vacation, and we certainly made the most of it. We drove around the entire Ring Road, stopping at every new waterfall we could find.

My favorite moment of the trip was watching a man wade into the pool beneath Seljalandsfoss with a fishing rod, in search of trout. That's him in the main photo. Believe it or not, there really are fish upstream that survive the 60-meter drop into the pool below.
